Typhoon "Haiyan" is expected to make a landfall in Samar-Leyte on Friday, November 8. 2013. It will be named "Yolanda" upon entering the Philippine area of responsibility.

Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon. Meanwhile, at 4:00 am today, the eye of Typhoon with International Name "HAIYAN"was located based on all available data at 1,560 km East of Mindanao (07.4°N, 140.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move west at 30 kph.

Tropical Storm “Haiyan,” which is expected to strengthen in 48 hours into a supertyphoon with peak intensity of 241 kilometers per hour, is forecast to make landfall in the Samar-Leyte area by Friday afternoon. Tropical Storm “Haiyan” will likely turn into a supertyphoon as it enters the Philippine area of responsibility in the next 48 hours, US meteorologists said on Tuesday.

 “Due to very favorable environmental conditions, rapid intensification is forecast over the next 48 hours with a peak intensity of 130 knots (241 kilometers per hour),” said a forecast by the Hawaii-based Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC).


 The JTWC of the US Department of Defense categorizes storms with wind speeds of 241 kph as a supertyphoon. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) officially uses no such classification.

 Haiyan, which will be named “Yolanda” when it enters the Philippine area of responsibility, is expected to arrive on Thursday morning and make landfall in the Samar-Leyte area by Friday afternoon, Pagasa said.

 It will have turned into a typhoon once it comes in, moving westward at 25 kph, weather forecasting section chief Rene Paciente said.

 “It will cut through Visayas and exit through Mindoro. If it maintains its westward track, it has a low chance of hitting Metro Manila. But it may also go west-northwest,” he said."
Expectedly, so many reports will come out after the typhoon, such as, but not limited to,  number of casualties, number of missing persons, expenses of the government, either given to victims or to the pockets, etc... then everybody forgets...then another calamity comes and the same story goes...and so on and so forth.

Most people may find this kind of scenario worrying and frustrating, but one may find it monotonous. Because, people don't bother to ask  "WHY", why is it happening? People say that God is the Creator....but fail to see that typhoons are part of Creation. Now, if you offend the Creator, what will happen?

By comparison, Christ called the Father in heaven as "Father" but Roman Catholicism is calling the Father in Vatican City as "Holy Father". The  body of Christ is not being called holy in constrast to the cross, which is being called "holy". When  Christ died, he was resurrected to life by the Father in heaven. But when the cross lost its force against early Christians, who were never afraid to die on the cross, it was resurrected to life by the Holy Father in Vatican City through the Roman Empire. Aside from calling it holy, Roman Catholicism uses "The Name" of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, whenever followers pray, by starting and ending the prayer with a "sign of the cross" and at the same time, uses "The Name" by reciting "In the name of the Father, of the Son, and the Holy Spirit..Amen". It further says: "Deeply saddened by the destruction and loss of life caused by the super typhoon, His Holiness Pope Francis expresses his heartfelt with all those affected by this storm and its aftermath". Parolin said in the telegram according to CPCP News.  Does the writer really believe that the Pope was saddened and he has still the heart ? And he believes that the Pope is Holy ? It further added: "In praying for the people of the Philippines, the Holy Father likewise offers encouragement to the civil authorities and emergency personnel as they assist the victims of this storm. Pope Francis does not like "money" to be idolized. On deeper analysis however, it turns out that he was referring to "greed" in money being constitutive of idolatry. But, is the use of word "idolatry" appropriate for "greed'? Before we discuss this questionable use of word "greed" in "idolatry", let us first quote the report in www.rawstory.com.
